SharingSA is the Home Sharing Association for South Africa (HSASA).
The objective of the Association is to form and consult to a representative and inclusive members network for all home sharers across South Africa. SharingSA’s team of consultants answer general questions to the community, helps to lobby, negotiate and set policies with local Government, to advocate for home sharing across neighbourhoods in South Africa.
Founded by Christine da Silva who mentored and guided the Airbnb Community in Cape Town as one of two Ambassadors (together with Corina Rosca) since 2015 and later, in 2017 decided to widen the community to all sharing platforms and create an association that is more inclusive and representative of all home sharing platforms and sharers across South Africa.
Corina remained part of SharingSA until January 2018, where, due to a difference in vision for the company, they parted ways to explore their own objectives.
The goal of the Association is that through home sharing, we create and inspire a movement of collaboration between neighbourhoods and cities and together work towards social change.
